Are only independent 9/11 organization has gone out of business. This is bad because there are no independent organizations to review the governments counter terrorism efforts. We all know how bad the government can be on these things.

That's true, I think miked misspelled 'our' there, folks. So it's supposed to read 'our only 9/11 organization'. The 9/11 organization is to foresee all the counter-terrorism documents and what is being held towards and against it. It reviews all the reports of government's struggles against terrorism.
I too think another organization better spring forward or somebody. Someone has to keep the government in check. Remember, it's all about checks and balances in our country, everything has to be checked.

The indie commission was great as a blame throwing device, but I don't think the public really cares about pointing fingers at this stage of the game

it's always easy to be critical in hindsight - if someone had come to the FBI on Sept. 10 and said that hijackers would be flying planes into buildings instead of taking them to Cuba, they'd have been laughed out of the office. No one had ever done it before then and suicide bombers weren't into that type of stuff.

The independent 9/11 commission accomplished what it set out to do, then passed its findings on to the organization(s) formed to do the forward-thinking and action taking, particularly Homeland Security and other areas of Federal Gov't. It was good to have an independent investigation unit; however I can't say the same for a privatized organization handling on-going operations and decisions. While the US Gov't is far from perfect, it is the best place to maintain the security and welfare of citizens.
