The ice glaciers melting and all the ice in the north pole and south pole melting, and all of us dying since it gets hotter and hotter. All the ice melted will equate to flooding of the earth, and we will all die.

is this made up by the governement or it holds some truth?

Scientists say that we have to blame sun for this; The Sun is in a changed state. It is brighter than it was a few hundred years ago and this brightening started relatively recently - in the last 100 years. I think this must be true, because no body benefits for spreading such rumors.

We are no gods to fix natural calamities. So everyone knows about global warming and every one even knows that we have to die one day, if it happens one day we have to face it.

What about the thinning of the ozone layer as there are lesser and lesser trees that help in protecting us from the heat of the sun? I think this is also one reason for global warming and for us to start doing something about it. What do you think?

I think we should start acting as if we are part of this planet instead of the owners of it.

Tsunamis and other natural disasters should have proven to us that we are insignificant, no matter how great we think we are.

If nature gives us a big whack to put us back in our places then there is little we can do but stand and take it.

go ahead and tell China and India to stop using fossil fuels and stop industrializing their countries. Too late buckos, we got here first and you're screwed out of any progress.

Well they aren't going to stop are they, any more than we are going to stop using what we already have?

You can't blame them. We dangled the jewels under their noses and now they are going after their bit of bling.

I know, I was actually agreeing with you.

The problem is that we started the damage and now other nations are holding up our example.
Trouble is we can hardly say, don't do that.
We never practised it so why should they?

Global Warming is a serious issue, and it's a fact that it's happening. I find it someone disconcerting that some people brush it off nonchalantly and appeal to the fact that some scientists believed in Global Cooling decades ago. There are several problems with that line of arugment. While it is true that some did belief Global Cooling, it's not true the majority did. There are many cases in which I can show you scientists who go against the grain. The notion, though, that there was this huge scientific concensus about Global Cooling is a myth propagated by the media.

However, even during the period in which some did belief in it, the evidence, to an extent, implied it. However, there were many problems with the means by which they went about understanding the phenomenon. You have to understand that evidence, at least some, did point toward Global Cooling, but it was hardly the mythical phenomenon some people are making it out to be. The sciences of meteorology and climatology have come quite a bit (advanced) since then, and there is new evidence. This is how science works. As experiments are done, data is collected, and technololgy advances research, new evidence appears. Science changes with evidence. That ought not be seen in a negative light. That's how most of human scientific progress has occured.

Global warming does occure and humans are a, although not the only, cause of it. The burning of fossile fules is a problem, as is the product of toxic gasses from factories, but they are not the only problem. Biomass burnings, including man-made forestfires, mass trash burning, and clearing of land for mass agriculture does a lot of environmental damage in a variety of ways. Throughout the world, Biomass burnings of some kind cause abouy 40% of the production of CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gasses. Deforestation in turn creates more problems insofar as there's nothing to absorb the excess CO2 freed.

When greenhouse gasses hit the environment, all evidence shows that they accumulate and thus accumulate heat in the envirnoment. It's nto rocketscience. It's both observed and commonsense. The earth was never meant to handle mass agriculture and human indurstialism. It's not an endless bounty of resources or sink into which we can dump waste. It will have an adverse effect.

The world has been warming up since the last ice age. Plus, how can we possibly know that the temperature of the earth has been raising 1 degree evry 10 years or somethint ridiculous like that do you know how long we've had instruments sensitive enough to measure temperature over that kind of time? oh yeah about 20 years or so.
good fight liberals.

It's very important to note that many of the 1970s ice-age whiners are today's global warming whiners. Today's scientific "concensus" is just as meaningless as yesterday's scientific concensus: 600 years ago the earth was flat and the sun orbited the earth; just some 50 years ago America's public schools taught about man-made canals on Mars...junk science just like today.

Global warmers want us to believe that because of a one degree increase in temps over the last 150 years, we are going to die. Forget the fact that ample science shows that this planet has been heating and cooling since its birth.

We are told that greenhouse gases are the problem yet only 2% of greenhouse gases is C02, the gas that libs say is causing all the problems.
We are not told that 95% of all greenhouse gases is nothing but pure water vapor....media makes damn sure america doesn't know that inconvenient fact.
