How long do you think this war in Iraq is going to go one?
I think it will last for another 2 more years. I hope it don't last that long but it looks like it might. |

I believe it will last through the Bush administration. Too many of his friends are making a lot of money, your tax dollars, off this to stop now. He wants to milk this oil crisis creation of his for as long as he can, as well.
Based upon that, i would say we are gearing up to make his friends who are not trillionaires like he and his family are.. |

| As long as it needs to to finish the job? It's a good thing we're doing there whether people can see it now or not. You can't change a country in 8 years. Give it time. Besides, going into iraq was the correct decision anyway as logic points out to us. al qaeda was in iraq, iraq supports al qaeda. put 2 and 2 together and wow! |

Im' never clear what you're talking about..why are we in Iraq? who invited us to change their country to a theocracy of the Islam religion? Who said we could steal their oil and hire illegals to work in their country?
Where are you coming from? What are you saying? You're' confusing me and I'm old and don't need it.....spit it out child, what are you saying? |

| what im saying is exactly what I wrote! read it carefully! Al Qaeda attacked us. Killed thousands of our civilians. Iraq supports Al Qaeda. Saddam Hussein was an evil tyrannical dictator that supported a terrorist faction that killed thousands of US citizens. We had to attack them. If we didnt, we would not be taking the fight to them. Plus, we arent turning them into a theocracy we're introducing democracy there to protect ourselves. |

| This will take a long time. If Bush decides to pull the troops out of Iraq, what would be the consequences? I don't know what to think, It feels like it's not our war but at the same time what if the troops aborted their mission, are we going to be safe? |

I think this will continue until they get what they wanted. I would not say, it will last for another two more years or 3, or 5 years.. What I can say is it will still take a long time to finish this war. If the Al Quaeda surrender themselves, then war is to end but the question is WHEN?
We just hope that one day, PEACE will be achieved. |

War should be declared as a last resort, then it should be pursued with all the resources available.
The last president to follow that idea was Franklin Roosevelt.
Because the war in Afghanistan has been ignored in favor of the idiot and chief's invasion of Iraq, the war in Afghanistan will last for years.
Because the war in Iraq was both based on untruths and criminally mismanaged, it will last for decades. |

Ignore this stupid refrain that keeps showing up. There is more than one kind of war that the last half of the 20th century has showed the world. With the advent of nuclear weapons and ballastic missles, the strategies of war had to change. Taking on an ally of a nuclear armed nation could get your nation completely oblitered in 30 minutes...strategies have changed so ignore the above idiot remark...no longer applies in the real world!

He was the last president who had the luxury and means to follow that idea. He would not be able to pull off such a mindset in today's world without getting this country blown off the map in 30 minutes or getting our oil sources shut off for years. We import most of the vital raw materials we need to defend ourselves and run this nation. Times have changed!!!

Only YOU have ignored the war in Afghanistan...George Bush has NOT!!!
In addition to blasting the taliban out of Kabul and killing half of Al qeada at Bora Bora, George Bush committed the 10th Mountain Division to Afhganistan less than a year after 9-11 with full air support. These troops and our planes have been killing al qeada in the hills, mountains, and plains of Afghanistan for more than four years now...WHY DON'T YOU KNOW THIS!!!!??????

Another lying liberal with zero facts to support his lying claim that Bush lied about anything. This lib is just spewing typical moveon-org lies that cannot be supported with any facts or truths. Show me one lib who can point to any aspect of the pre-war intel and demonstrate that Bush lied about anything. I've already posted at this site many times, the 9-11 Commision findings, the findings of the British Parliment on this matter, etc and all say very clearly that bad intel(not lying) was the problem on one issue...WMDs. Hey, lib where is your source...let's see your data??? |

| It was decided in around 2000 taht we would go in. It was also decided, in my oppinnion, that we would not leave until the oil runs out. It is not so much having the Iraqi oil in the US as having control of the Iraqi oil. |

Where did you get this??? We invaded March 23, 2003. Show us your source
for making such an absurd claim???

This country does not need Iraqi oil...never has! We use 20 million barrels of oil per day to run this country...go see the Dept of Energy website. Of that 20 million barrels, we import a little more than 60% from foreign sources. We import roughly 1 million barrels of oil per day from Iraq...that's only 1/20th of what we use daily. Do you understand the fraction 1/20th??? It's a drop in the bucket compared to what we use. |

| On where I got it, it was from a book by jimmy Carter. On the oil, I said it is about "controlling" the oil. Not using it. The fact of power or control drives almost everyones politics these days. |
