| I would take exception to the notion that liberal ideas "poison" the mind. What poisons the mind is ignorance, and making some ideas taboo promotes ignorance. Thinking critically about why we hold our views is a positive thing. |

You cannot make "some ideas taboo," as you claim above. That's simply impossible. Your thoughts are your thoughts, taboo or otherwise. What you can do is make certain "behaviors" taboo like rape, theft, etc. |

I think you are taking things to the extreme.....
Ignorance is what poisons the mind I have quite a few family member who vote party lines because that is how it is done in the family...I would rather vote for the man. I never voted for Clinton and I never voted for Dubya' neither one of them had me convinced that they were the best man for the job.....However I am more liberal than conservative and I say this because I am able to use my mind...I don't agree with everything that our President has to say.. |

Whatever gives you the idea that being liberal means using your mind??? Where does that view come from????
All the ranting, chanting assholes we see in our streets protesting everything from the Iraq war to amnesty for illegals are virtually all mindless idiots who couldn't describe a correct factual position on any of those issues.
For decades, these liberal street fools have been interviewed and re-interviewed by media and in each case they can barely speak correct english let alone describe why they are even out in our streets protesting.
The most ignorant, uninformed people I've ever encountered are liberals.
Look at history, for christ sake. The only countries where liberalism(in its ultimate form, communism) has ever been able to take hold is where the ignorant & clueless reside. From 1917 Russia to 1950 China to 1959 Cuba to 1960 vietnam...all of these masses were(ARE) ignorant and subscribed to the idiot promises of liberalism, which basically promised them that STUFF would taken from their fellow countrymen and given to them. Same crap Nancy Pelosi and today's liberal establishment keeps promising the ignorant and clueless in this country.
The 20th century slaughter(100 million people) that liberalism(aka communism) wrought on this world could never have been accomplished among a population of conservatives. Why!!! Because we are not so stupid as to believe that supporting a Gov't that would confiscate the property and wealth from productive citizens to give to large masses of non-productive citizens could ever produce anything but economic failure, mob rule and dictatorships...which is exactly what has happened every time its been tried.
Our constitution is a brilliant document and it is 100% conservative! The first 10 amendments(Bill of Rights) that George Mason insisted must be included as part of the original doument accomplishes a singular purpose...it does only one thing...all ten amendments do only one thing...
IT PROTECTS THE INDIVIDUAL FROM GOV'T AND MOB RULE!!!! The right to free speech protects the individual from gov't; the right to own and carry arms protects the individual from gov't; the right to own property protects the individual from gov't...and...the liberals hate the hell out of these rights!!!
It's a big laugh to hear someone claim that being a liberal means using your mind...what f--king part of failure don't you liberals get???!! |

Of course being liberal means using your mind - the very definition of liberal supports that.

I already know the best, most proficient, highest vocab language on the planet. It is the only true international language in the world. Learning some second class inferior language like spanish would actually be a dumbing down of my language skills. Soon, we will have federal law enforcing "english" as the official language of this nation...could even be included in the current amnest bill before congress.
