Why are we living in fear?

Why is it so unbelievable to think it's true? It would have to be a pretty elaborate undertaking to falsify the information they have that's been released. Why would they go through so much trouble?

They did say the Holland Tunnel plot was in its very early stages... If they were trying to accomplish some sort of justification, or fear factor, why would they create an elaborate plan to come up with a false plot just to say it was in its early stages... they would "discover" it soon before it was supposed to have happened.

Sorry, even I'M not that cynical to think it wasn't there.
