Being a devout Roman Catholic from a Catholic country, I am sorry but I wouldn't agree to gay marriage. However, it might hold differently in another country as it always depends on the administration, the government and the way the people look at life and religion.

It's becoming a tough question, especially after the fall of an evangelical icon Rev Ted Haggard, probably caught in the act that he might admit in the long run, since he has admitted buying methane. He was anti gay marriage, and this thing might take us back to the old belief where being gay is a sickness that has to be kept in the closet requiring a formidable effort.

Personally, I have no problem with gay marriage... call it civil union if you like, but I feel a gay couple should have the same rights as married couples with regard to taxation, health insurance, etc. I foresee an issue with a "half-hearted" solution... there has to be something defined, such as a civil union, that specifically gives the status same as marriage for such things as taxation, health insurance, etc.

I know this will be an unpopular response on this board... so sorry.
