Some wars are definitly needed like the American Revolution, but some wars are just there because some evil guy wants to dominate(hitler)....

yeah absolutely. Some wars are necessary. American get great things . But they are using their powers in totally wrong way in iraq . There is no need of that kind of war where millions of people should be hurt for a small group of terrorists.

While wars are certainly not the most welcome of events, they have been used in the past for ultimately positive results

Even if it's costly in human lives and resources, for those who can afford it war is a necessary evil, and that had been proven in our time that is after World War II better than anytime. Maybe Vietnam was not needed but the ME war was needed to put down aggressors like Saddam who were bullying others and was committing crimes in the open. It didn't stay in their own region, because terrorism was being exported and finally made it to the US. So, such evil had to be uprooted in order to live peacefully, but it turned out to be costly as it was expected.

Avoiding war in the future is a major subject to be kept in mind. Now a days after understading that direct wars are not possible terrorism has started developing...! Direct war is not difficult to combat but the terrorism is like a cancer. A suitable solution to cuurtail this activity is essential to safe guard the innocent people all over the globe.

I just hope a peaceful world where no war and no terrorism at all.

For me, war doesn´t solve this problem but it only ruins the lives of the innocent. Nobody can stop terrorism except when the terrorist themselves admit and realize how cruel they are and hopefully they will stop.

We have wars because of bad leaders. They have let us down. The most powerful jobs in the world,ie being the president or prime minister should have vetting procedures and training. As it is now any nut with money can run to be elected(and they do)..When theres war we all lose,we all lost in the 2 world wars.,and we are all losing now in Iraq. Our freedoms are eroding because of it. ..Instead of war,the provocations of peoples should be removed..When an ignorant posts here ,you can feel their hatred and see their ignorance.Thats the spirit that starts wars.

What a complete idiot!! We DO have vetting in the selection of our leaders....they're called ELECTIONS!!! You...know...those things free democratic societies do when they bring candidates to the public square for scrunity and review. We use these things called open, free debates where both the candidates and the public vett out the differences between the candidates and then freely elect the leader(s) of their choice, without having someone like you dictate who they should elect.

Freedom haters like you don't like the democratic process because it rarely produces the anti-american results you so desire . Freedom-haters like you are the ones directly responsible for bringing dictators to power...history is full of examples of the ignorant and uninformed(you) bringing to down organized civilized societies and turning those societies over to tyranny of the mob. Dictatorships and tyranny cannot rein as long as people reject your message of totalitarianism and your attacks on free choice & dissent.

If you don't like living in a representative democracy, Fidel Castro is just 90 miles south of the Florida Keyes waiting on you. First thing he would do is send your ass out into the sugar cane fields to pick your daily quota of cane. On your off time, you'd be sent to communist education camps/seminars to be trained in the ways of socialism. Oh...BTW...you don't get to elect your leaders down there so you won't have that pesky problem of vetting leaders that you are complaing about in this thread. If you prefer a less tropical climate there's always Russia or China. Take some of your america-hating friends with you...I insist!

I think yes. Why do wars happen? Because one country does can't agree with other countrie's interests. Then it uses force to get what it wants. So something actually changes. That means that one countrie's problems get sloved.

Wars have solved many things including communism and fascism.

In World War II, Hitler wanted to take over Eurpoe and create a large German state in which Jews, and other groups would be killed. The Cold War , wasn't a real war, but ended communism in Russia.

Ah, but you forget, the reason WW2 did happen is because of WW1, if Germany had never fallen in disgrace, Hitler would never had the oppoertunity to convince so many into forming the Nazi party.
If it wasn't for the(well not really a war but still revolution) revolution against the Emperor in Russia, Lenin would never have risen to power, and thus would never had brought a poor shoe maker's son into power.
And he Stalin, would never have killed so many of his people.
There are many examples that war simply destroyed or changed something a privious war had constructed.

Except they don't see themselves as cruel men, at least the one's that so desperately believe themselves the "Holy Worriers of Allah" constantely doing his will. To them we are evil. the politics of that region and their customs are alien to us. They will not simpl quit.
