So, I guess by your logic, Hitler should've stayed in power, massacred innocent civilians, and ruthlessly conquered the rest of Europe. We only got involved in World War 2 because the rich people told us so.
No need to attack Germany, because what did Hitler do to us? |

| Say war is bad is like saying violence is bad. Sure, it'd be great if there is none of it, but what do you do when someone starts beating you up? Sometimes it's the only alternative. |

| You know how to read things wrong, however if they slap you on one chick give them the other one, which means you go to war when you don't have alternative. It's like you said it war is a business and when it pays off it's those who have a bigger stake who will get a higher share, just like a stock. But you sounded like the rich are sending the poor to war for their own benefit, at least not in the U.S. even if in the case of Iraq those who have oil interest might be benefited including politicians. |

| The motives for the Iraq war are still not entirely apparant. There was no intelligence for "weapons of mass destruction", and Iraq was not tied to the 9/11 terrorists, but the administration will not step up and answer. |

| I think war never ends unless if it's the end of the world. I was not born yet in this world war already started. Until now war continued in different places. There are many innocent civilians died because of war. |

| Often people are provoked and retaliate, then war brakes out, in a tit for tat fashion. We need to be fair and not provke if we want to avoid war...Also its true that this president didnt go to vietnam when he was conscripted and the americans actually gave up only when middle class kids were being killed...Did you know that Iraq is a made up country.A Britsh general drew the borders on a map,and as there are two religions there the only chance for democracy was to split them up and make another border on a map. |

You need to read a history...any history book. Wars are about hegemony and power!

What the hell are you talking about?? George Bush wasn't conscripted/drafted??? Bill Clinton was and he refused to report for service on his induction date. George Bush joined the Nat'l Air Gurad in Texas and flew Mach II interceptors (F-102s)...A $30 million fighter loaded with missiles and nuke capable. George Bush was an accomplished commercial rated pilot before entering the Air Guard and the Air Guard was quite happy to have people with flight expreience join their ranks.
Facts don't mean anything to you, right?

Show me where one war in recorded human history was started by business for "profits"?
Wars are NOT started by corporations or small businesses. Wars are started by heads of state and dictators and the reasons have absolutely nothing to do with some business making a profits. Look no further than human greed, human desire for power over others, human empire building, preemptive defense measure, etc. There has never been a case of a corporation/business delcaring war on any soverign state or territory in order to make profits.
And in this country, congress(535 members) must declare or approve war before the president can make war against another nation. Hence, two of our three branches of gov't must agree...it's called a majority!!!! |

Your comment about war means that the Iraq war was for this. So you are criticising your own party? Oh, now you are changing what you said? Oh, I simply misunderstood it, right? What did it mean then? |

Since you simply can't read correctly and are truly uninformed why don't you just sit back and learn. |

grumpybumpas, are you able to operate a nuclear reactor? I've got a friend on one of the oldest ships with three nuclear reactors. He trounces people with his wit constantly (including myself) and by no means can be proclaimed as "poor".
War is a part of our human nature. We've been waring since before there was any "profit" to be gained from it when people fought for the sake of fighting. It'd be great if we could all just shake hands, stand in a circle and sing kumbaya, but there are always going to be differences and not everyone will agree.
Now your last statement for some people would be enough reason for them to harbor some great resentment. I can't be 100% positive if you meant for it to offend or were just stating what you believe is right, but what if you were in a position of leadership? Your beliefs are in check. If your countrymen were threatened, do you think that if we just let them be with their weapons that it'll all blow over? I surely hope not. That kind of resolution is for middle school and shouldn't be taken into a situation where the lives of your country are at stake. You need to take action.
Also, using a limiter such as the word "all" in your statement about who starts wars is shortsighted. Can you say that you know each and every account in which wars were started? Oh....didn't we as poor oppressed Americans start the war which was our founding? But I'm sure that just slipped your mind. |
