1). The American military will remain in Irak until the American people (at home) threaten to revolt - as they did in the Vietnam War.

2). American exploitation will remain in Irak until an Iraki "Ayatollah" rallies the Iraki people or when the oil runs dry - whichever comes first.

Most likely, "this war will go on" all during both points 1 and 2.

Hey. Did any of you think of the dead Iraqi civilians? They are dying like flies on a hot summer day. For every American soldier killed there are a thousand or more helpless Iraqi bystander dead . But what we Americans think of is our own bloody skin. All this while Bush talks his silly head off and behaves like a buffoon in a circus or worse. The Iraq war will not end till these jokers bring our country to its knees. Our economy has been shaken by the Iraq war . It is draining our blood in many ways. And all the while Bush sits there smugly giving his sermons. These guys need to be kicked out of office.

Well it depends upon the new government and its decision to handle this issue. Let’s pray for peace.

You have hit the nail on the head. But have missed out a few finer details. If we suddenly lose interest ,we may pull out without any reason just as we attacked Iraq without one. There are many Bush’s other than the present buffoon . The Democrats may just want to leave the mess and blame it on The Republicans. Anything can happen. If you think sanity would prevail ,you are wrong. Where would our weapon manufacturers go if there is no war? We were loading Pakistan with guns and weapons before someone up there realized that it was too dangerous a game to play. I only hope the dead don’t come and haunt us.

It is all about money honey. The main reason is oil. Americans want a piece of that action. With Saddam alive( we seem to have forgotten him ) we had no chance of putting our fingers into the oil pie. So we got rid of him in a dramatic style. Our hands are still wet with his blood, but who cares . But we forgot something. When there is a war , innocent guys die . Bush thought he will bully other nations to send their troops but no one bit the bait other than the British. They are smart .They sent some Gorkha mercenaries and claimed that they have done their bit. Finally it is the American soldiers who came back in bags. But things wont stop here. We are creating thousands of terrorists out there in Iraq and Afghanistan. The dead will surely come back to haunt us.

The times have changed . Nam was a different era. Those guys couldn’t have come to America to create havoc. This time it is different. With each passing day we are making new enemies in Iraq. For every innocent civilian bystander killed , we are sowing hate in the family of the deceased . We are creating potential terrorists who will one day threaten the lives of innocent American civilians. The days are not far when America will stand isolated in world forum ,with no one backing them. It is sad that one stupid president of America can undo so much which this great nation can do to establish world peace . I am afraid , that the dead will come home to haunt us.
