The bible says the Earth is 6000 years old, and that everything revolves around the Earth.

listen man first you need to know whatyou are talking about before you say it. no where in the bible does it say that the earth revolves around the sun. and if i am getting what you are saying then it is better that we teach young children that the earth is billions of years old and that we came from ROCKS!! that is freaking briliant. shut up. you abviously didn't listen to your parents when they told you to think before you speak. i am for teaching it in school as long as you could chose from whatyou wanted to learn. not have the liberal athiesm shoved down the throats of children.

Absolutely not. We have in place (and need) the separation of Church and State. Look at your history. Look to the abuses in England (which had a State sanctioned religion) while our forefathers were hauling their butts outta there to come to America to worship as they chose to.

This will probably suprise no one, but I am strongly against any religious teaching in public schools. It is something that mature individuals should explore for themselves and not be forced onto them.

Post subject: Church and State
Countries that don't separate church and state tend to be more restrictive and have a lesser regard for human rights. Look at the Middle East. Is there one democratic government there besides Israel and possibly Turkey?

If the bible is taught in a class by itself and is not a requirement to graduate, then I'm all for it. Snipets in a history class are alright as far as I'm concerned. Taking out any and all source of religion from history classes gives the children of the future a limited view on the different beliefs of the world at an early age. And by the time they're even slightly curious about it, they probably won't take the time out of their lives to read up on the fundamentals of the beliefs of different people.
