Mexico was a one party(politics) country for more than 70 years and was run in an almost communistic fashion with few "rights" and a totally corrupt heavy-handed gov't.

In 1938 Mexico nationalized all their oil producing industries into a state-controlled entity called Pemex. Hence, their oil industry suffered from socialist mis-management and socialist corruption which eventually stagnated all their oil production and exploration.

Now, meixco's oil reserves are starting to dry up and have, at best, 10 years left. The meixcan gov't steadfastly refuses to allow any "private" development of its oil and is now looking at 50% of its economy collapsing.

If 50% of the meixcan economy fails, we will have millions upon millions of illegals rushing our borders. This will produce a shooting war, make no mistake about this reality.

Here's a link discussing these facts:

www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2006/06/30/MNGAAJN9JG1.DTL

Wonder why the lib mainstream media refuses to give these facts to the american people??? Anyone hear of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC or any of the major lib newsprint rags provide this very important information to their readers or viewers??? You'd think that since Mexico is this country's second largest source of imported oil, the mainstream media would let everyone know about this...two reasons why the mainstream has kept these facts from America:

(1) Maintream lib media supports open borders with Mexico. They don't want to say or do anything that would harm the current Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill being debated. If America knew that in the not too distant future million of mexicans will come screaming across our borders, that amnesty bill would be DOA.

(2) Mainstream media wants to see this country's second largest source of oil fail because this would usher in higher gas prices and rationing in the U.S. The liberal mainstream media has been advocating for $6/gal and $7/gal gas prices for this country for years. It would be a dream come true for liberals because SUVs would disappear; cars would be the size of pill boxes; and gov't would get more control over our personal choices about cars, fuel, etc. More gov't is a lib dream come true!!!

Another angle on "war" and Mexico is a question I have regarding the possibility of armed civil strife here in the United States some time in the future. I remember back in the early 80's I read something somewhere questioning what current (then) issue could possibly spark a second American civil war. It was concluded that no current issue was volatile enough. Abortion came the closest. But now, in 2007, I see demographic changes undermining the cultural integrity of this country and can see future confrontation as being possible. Maybe even probable. Inevitable? A few years ago I regarded the possibility as a remote possibility, but it appears more plausible every day that it awaits somewhere over the horizon. It is the ideological poles that usually spark armed action, with everyone in between forced to take sides. I can easily see, say, the La Raza/Mecha gang and, say, the Minutemen sparking a wider conflict. Its not at all out of the realm of possibility any more. I blame the vast overreaching of modern liberalism as the catalyst for these problems. Just think, because of liberalism ( and its symptom, political correctness) a fascist organization such as Mecha can have chapters on every college campus, and a major national institution called the National Council of The Race (La Raza) can have the clout it does.

JT:

Excellent point and very well said!!

I agree with the proposition that modern liberalism has polarized this nation more than at any other power in our history. I believe we are more polarized today than in 1860 just before the outbreak of civil war hostilities.

Modern liberalsim has proved itself to be the deadly enemy of this nation, our founders and the principles in our founding documents. It has been waging war on us since the 1960s, and you're right that at some point this will morph into a shooting war. Many aspects of today's polarization are left over from the civil war:
(1) States Rights
(2) Small gov't .vs large gov't
(3) Low taxes .vs high taxes
(4) Individual rights .vs mob rights
(5) Gov't practiced and approved race discrimination
(6) Cultural integrity & sovergnity .vs destructive mongrelization.

The hot topic of(illegal aliens) shows how out of step today's libs are with our founders, our constitution and those of us who love this nation. Look no further than what Alexander Hamilton wrote in 1802 about
immigration:

"The safey of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common national sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemptioin of the citizens from foreign bias and prejudice; and on that love of country....The United States have already felt the evils of incorporating a LARGE NUMBER OF FOREIGNERS into their national mass...it has served very much to divide the community and to distract our councils."

Hamilton was expressing the majority view about the cultural damage large numbers of foreign immigrants were already doing in his time. He knew that huge enclaves of foreigners bringing customs and values that are alien to american doctrine will eventually destroy this nation. It goes to the old addage that "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

We take in more than 1.2 million immigrants per year. That's more than all the advanced other countries in the world combined. We are over-immigrating this country and we are destroying it as a result. Add to that, the million of illelgals who invade this country because of open border idiots in our gov't who refuse to enforce our immigration laws and because of the liberal media, liberal academia, hate-america leftists, etc.

I think another civil war is inevitable...........

If we are at "War with Mexico", it's going to go as well as the "War on Drugs".

Miserable.

Since we failed on the war on drugs and with Mexico, it seems like we've decided to move on and declare war on islam in the Middle East. Iraq and our thirst for oil is not our prettiest hour.

Now we have over a billion seething desperately poor muslims hating our guts. Their governments are fanning their fires which only deflects attention from their greed and incompetence. Good luck fighting this war! The only way we'll win is if oil is $40/barrel and not $140.
