Obviously an old post, but I thought I'd just rebuttal against this statement. Regardless of the fact that it hadn't been carried out. Would you really be happy with no conflict in a political forum? With no conflict, it's just the same opinion being spouted out among people who already think as you do. Of course there are some variances.

Not to mention that deportliberals is a great debater. Making liberals look like absolute novices. Just like in this thread here:

If you have no one to compete against, you have very little reason to try to improve yourself and convince the opposing side that your beliefs are "better" than their own. Or teach them something that they didn't know previously to show that your point is correct.
