Both Christianity and Islam are essentially barbaric

The Church believed that the earth was the center of the universe and to prove their point they persecuted ,burnt on stake and killed those who claimed otherwise. The word ‘crusade’ means jihad or holy war. It is only that Christianity has had a lead of a few centuries over Islam. Conversion to Christianity or Islam was forced upon many millions of people . Even today Christian missionaries convert local tribes all over the world by enticing or luring them with baubles and petty cash. Islam on the other hand is still maturing. In terms of world history, Islam is still a baby religion and Christianity a toddler .

An interesting post . You would recall that President Bush made a remark that he would start a crusade against the 9/11 perpetrators . What he meant was that he would start a jihad against the jihadis. Christianity is just another wolf in a business suit. Over the years it has cloaked itself in respectability. Who did the Jews in? Hitler was not a Muslim was he? I am not suggesting that Islam is any better. It is only that Islam is still a tribal religion which is still to evolve and mature.

The origins of both Islam and Christianity are the same. The social and political environment which gave birth to these religions is the same. In fact, both religions hold Jerusalem as holy. It is another matter that the Jews have laid their claim over it by making it their capital. The question is why Islam continues its bloody path whereas Christianity has become more docile by giving up crusades and the like? We must remember that Islam is a few centuries younger. Possibly the religion has to run its course and in another one or two centuries, it may become more subdued . We have to look at the context and rationally understand these religions .
