What do you think about the Lebanon situation?

I think it's foolish that the UN says it's going to deploy forces later, once so many people have died. They should act now and stop the killing.

Many countries are sending humanitarian aid, that's good, but makes no sense if there are bombs falling all over the place yet, I don't care much about food if a bomb can kill all my family the next minute.

What do you think?

I never heard of this either. I even looked it up and still can't find anything about this.

Does Libano mean Lebanese?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree as per usual?

Fathomed it.

Or rather Google did.

It is Lebanon and ONU is the United Nations.

I think it may be Spanish?

Come on, Alexis - put us out of our misery.

I also googled it and I think he's talking about Israel's war on terror. If that's the case. It's on them not America.

You are right guys, sorry about this, Libano is Spanish for Lebanon and ONU is the UN, I've just corrected my original post.

I'm from Peru and was writing some content in Spanish before posting this thread.

I don't think Alexis said it was the US, Nogard.
The problem is that both the US and UK are seen as backing the Israelis and more could be done to defuse the issue.

problem is that the Lebanese people are supporting a terrorist group and their government is powerless to toss them out.

lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas - it's horrible that the bombing is going on, but you can't negotiate with terrorists and expect to be taken seriously.

and the UN is a joke - they kept unarmed observers in the middle of a war zone until someone got killed - how useful are they EVER?

I don't think you can use that terminology to justify killing innocent children. It's too glib.

And from what I have seen on the net, the UN made several calls to the Israelis to ask them to stop bombing for hours before the actual hit occured.
I think it's causing a bit of a stir now. From what I saw on a net front page anyway.
I think Oxfam, at least, held a full page ad in the papers here the other day. Another charity too. In respect of stopping this bombing.
Things are getting very restless here generally speaking.

as long as the terrorists keep using children and civilians as shields, they're going to get killed.

The Leban situation? Just like the rest of the Middle East, we just have to keep beating them until they see that they can't win andgo underground like Osama, but that will be only temporary, im afraid we just have to destroy all the Terrorist groups and gruops in positions of power and influence, and the UN take over the Middle East, they brought it up upon themselves.
